The purest form of service to others is when it comes from a place of complete selflessness.
Yup, we’ve all heard them. In fact, I’ve uttered every single one.
Truth is, the distinction between self-care and other-care, indulgent and generous, selfish and selfless, well, it’s not quite so clean. Nor is the motivation for the behavior associated with any. Why? Because of a little quirk of human physiology.
